There are multiple different ways a person can market; however, as the world becomes more and more engulfed in the digital world, inbound marketing proves to be more beneficial for capturing quality leads and providing better sales opportunities to help you grow your business.

How?

Start by producing content.

Content is so much more than just writing a blog and slapping it on a website.

What keywords are you using?

Have you done proper research to know which keywords will help you rank higher in Google?

On top of that, do you know which platforms (such as LinkedIn, Facebook, or Google+) the different pieces of content will be most beneficial on?

When you are posting content your main objective should be to provide value to people that are in your target audience.

You don't just want to slap all of your content all over the internet hoping everyone and their mom sees it.

You may be thinking, "wait, don't I want everyone to see my content? The more views the better, right?"

Not necessarily.

If you receive 1,000 views on a blog, but not one lead, that's not good, is it?

It may be that your content is not proving to be beneficial and needs to be repurposed, but if you are confident in the quality of your content, the problem could actually be that none of the 1,000 people who viewed it were in your target market - therefore they have no reason to convert into a lead.

Inbound marketing services are based off of research, meaning that content is written and distributed in the right places because there has been thorough data accumulated to ensure you attract the right audience and are posting where they will see it.

By consistently producing quality content your chances of easily being found in Google increases.

The more content you produce the higher chance you have.

But, it does not all hinge on your consistency.

It comes down to search engine optimization, or SEO, as well.

This comes back to knowing which keywords to use that will give you better Google ranking opportunities.

You want to pick less competitive keywords that still have a high search volume.

This is where research comes in as well - something like Google AdWords can help you determine which keywords are best for you.

Pairing consistent and quality content with strong keywords helps your chance of ranking higher in Google.

The higher you rank, the easier your page will be found by potential customers.

As well, you should be sharing your content across different social platforms.

Businesses are utilizing social media as a free platform to advertisetheir service/product by sharing their content and linking back to their site or a landing page.

Sharing on social media is an easy way to potentially get the right content in front of the right audience, as well as build more awareness around your brand.

These few things - producing content, having a target audience, doing keyword research, and posting on social media - are only a small part of the inbound marketing world, but they are services that you can start implementing immediately to start seeing growth in your business.

Once you have started implementing these services, make sure you are keeping track and measuring your efforts.

This vital for business growth.

How can you tell if the keywords you chose are working right, if you're posting on the right channels where your target audience hangs out, or if your content is connecting with your target audience?

You have to measure your efforts.

Keep track of your data.

How?

Google Analytics is a great place to start.

Review your efforts monthly so you can see what is working and what isn't, and then alter your efforts accordingly - this will also help you keep track of how quickly your business is growing.

Conclusion:

Inbound marketing is essential for your business.

Everything you post on the internet stays on the internet, unless you delete every trace of it - which means once you post one blog, you are still marketing for yourself the next day, the next day, and the next day.

Basically, you're still marketing even while you sleep!

Implement these few practices talked about, to build awareness and help grow your business.
